Curators of learning environments of all types, libraries, schools, collaborative workspaces, and other styles of working environments, are learning that people are more creative, happy, and productive when they roll up their sleeves and get their hands involved. People don’t prosper in their work nearly as well when they are asked to sit down and have information delivered to them through a monitor screen. Alternatively, when they’re offered the chance to move about their environment and to discover for themselves the excitement of engaged learning, they tend to be more imaginative, resourceful, artistic, and innovative. They find themselves happier and those around them find them more engaging. The entire atmosphere becomes more productive. In order to best activate these learning environments, we’ve put storage into the base of the Maker workstations and made the table tops from durable yet beautiful materials that will stand up to years of hard work. These pieces are used intergenerationally by children and young adults to career-minded folks and retirees. They are highly customizable and mobile to accommodate quick changeover from one use to another.
